MINAFON
Cwm Teigl, Blaenau Ffestiniog

ABOUT

Minafon in the snow
[Photograph by Rebecca Goodyear, one of our guests]
'Minafon' means “river’s edge”, and the house is at the junction at which three streams meet, forming the River Teigl. It was built in the mid nineteenth century as a schoolhouse for the local chapel. It became a home in the late nineteenth century. The living room, with its sloping ceiling, was once the cattle shed.

The river runs under the bridge next to the house, and then plunges down a waterfall.
